Paola Pellegrini received a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics for Economics from Ca’ Foscari University, Venice, Italy, in 2007. She is currently Research Director at Université Gustave Eiffel, Lille, France. Her main research interest is the optimization of the use of infrastructure capacity in shared transport systems, with railway as a backbone. She has participated in research projects in the field of mathematical optimization, air traffic management, and railway transportation. She has published the results of her research in several scientific journal articles, book chapters, and conference papers.
Marco Pranzo is Associate Professor in Operations Research at University of Siena from 2019. He was Assistant Professor at University of Siena from 2006 to 2019. In 2003 he obtained the Ph.D. in Operations Research from University ”La Sapienza” (Rome), and in 1999 he graduated in Computer Science Engineering from Roma Tre University. His research interests focus mainly on scheduling theory with applications to complex systems.
